Arrangements have been made with the KOA in Kissimmee (7 miles from the host hotel). Stay one night get one free, stay two nights and get two free, stay three nights and get three free, and so on. If you have a KOA Kamping card you are still entitled to an extra 10% discount. It’s a great deal, especially for that extended stay to see the local attractions.
Dick & I stayed there last September; we highly recommend this RV Park.
Prices are as follows: Back-In Sites (34’ max) $58.99 (plus tax) per night Pull through Sites (73’ long average) $75.99 (plus tax) per night
Call 407-396-2400 for reservations. Just mention that you are with the “FIREFIGHTERS” for their local convention.

Hey all, we have just formally announced that Hero To Hero will be doing one more (inter)national tour, scheduled for May-June 2011.
The tour is 55 official stops, with "heart stops" along the way. The trip takes 7 weeks and will be over 12,000 miles before it is done.
There will be 3-4 of us for the entire tour, with some special guests along the way.
We are in the process of beginning organization, and while we will give preference to depts/hometowns we have visited on the first four tours, we want to incorporate stops at as many FOOLS locations as possible.
Please contact us if you are interested in getting involved. We have also set up a tour page on facebook for planning.
Thanks! ( ' lj 7 July 2010 03:34pm - Lakewood, WA |

Wish it could have been a better holiday weekend for some of the members. Some of the NorCal brothers got burned pretty bad and Ben Sheppard (International Membership Trustee) had his catch fire with significant damage. Keep them all in your thoughts and prayers. 6 July 2010 08:51am |

Update on Cronin: He was extubated today, and awoke confused. He has come around a bit and is going to pull through. The brain bleed appears to be minor, and now it's just a matter of multiple fractures including arms, legs, orbital, and major swelling/tissue dammage. A little scary for us, but things are turning for the better. 24 June 2010 08:29pm - Puget Sound, WA |

Brothers & Sisters,
Last night, Snohomish County's Cary Cronin (Engine co. 74), a fellow Puget Sound FOOL, was racing his motorcycle at Pacific Raceways near Kent when his bike left the track at a high rate of speed. Cronin was thrown from his bike and suffered multiple fractures and was in and out of consciousness. He was intubated, stabilized, and airlifted to Harborview. Many of our Sno. 7 members and our Local is keeping us updated about every 20 minutes on his prognosis, and there is a large group already gathered there. Cary suffered fractures to his wrist, ankle, tib-fib, orbital, and has a small brain bleed that I have heard seems to be under control. His parents are flying in from Detroit tomorrow to see him. It sounds like so far that he is going make it, but is going to have an extremely rough road ahead of him.
Cronin is part of the Sno. 7 "Wolf Pack" and previously also worked at Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue before coming to Snohomish County.
So say a prayer or keep him in your thoughts FOOLS, he is one of all of ours.
We will keep you posted 24 June 2010 08:25pm - Puget Sound, WA |

In the early morning hours of Friday (6/4), Engine co. 81 (Snohomish County) with fellow Puget Sound FOOLS; Captain Ray Koseba, and D/O Joe Mulligan were the first arriving fire company to arrive at a two story working fire with reports of people trapped. Engine co. 81 used a ground ladder to rescue one from a second story window and removed to the ground. After that career moment, they forced the front door and began a primary search, where within 4 minutes, they located, removed an unconscious-person in respiratory arrest. They passed that one off to the Medic Unit who began resuscitation efforts and transported the person to Harborview. Both victims are alive only because of the actions of Engine co. 81, Medic 82, and Lk. Stevens Fire.
