What a great day of training with Hommteam and Gator Nation Fools. We fired up the HOT box for the day and did a lot of training in some great heat. All did well and all went home safe, well done FOOLS brothers. I can’t wait to do it again.

Killed in the Line of Duty was Patrick Joyce, 39, a 16 year member of the Yonkers, NY FD. Joyce leaves behind a wife and two children. Two other members are in very rough shape after a possible flashover and bailing out of the third floor.

Metro Atlanta held an 8 hour training class this past weekend in Baldwin GA. We covered some basic firefighter survival skills, and a few RIT drills. Though pouring rain, we sent 30 guys home with a little more tools in the toolbox. The inital word is Dickie located the fire apartment and made the grab while waiting for additional resources to reach the floor and get a standpipe line in place. To all of our brothers that have gone before us, today we raise a glass in your honor. To the 343 brave brothers of the FDNY, we salute your heroic efforts, and pray that your friends and family are able to endure with God's love, and the knowledge you gave your life doing the right thing. May this country never forget our heroes in public service and the military. And may the world never forget the vengence that was brought down on those that commited these cowardly acts. Just an FYI from the Convention '09 front.
Donations were made today, in the amount of $250 to both the National MS Society and the JDRF.
These donations were the proceeds of the raffle at Convention. Thanks to all who attended, purchased tickets, and hopefully everyone who was successful is enjoying the spoils of their winnings.
